ICT Platform: Resources and Tools

New technologies are evolving and growing at a break-neck speed. They have an unmistakably great impact on the people at large especially how they think, live and work every where. It also goes without saying that more the use of new technology, innovations and updation, the better the quality of teaching, learning, research and administration in a higher education institution. With ICT tools at our disposal, we can easly access different learning resources including distance learning and open library and derive the information at anytime and anywhere. Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College Sarhali provides ICT resources and tools in various forms. Including ICT tools in teaching not only  provides a great learning experience but also break the monotony of the traditional method of teaching. The College is trying its best to provide projectors and other multi-media etc so that students and staff can learn and use various tools like Spreadsheets, Presentation Software like PPT, Google Forms, Google Meet, Zoom etc.

Various technologies | devices in ICT include:

* Online digital repositories for lectures, course material, and digital library like open library, national digital library of India, Shodhsindhu, shodhganga etc.
* Use of computers, laptops, tablets, audio players, projectors and such devices etc.
* Access of course materials through cloud services e.g. Google Drive etc.
* Online access of Content as Slideshare, Scribd, Quora etc.
* Online Access of Educational Notes on Institute Website
* Sound Enhancement and Microphones System (including wireless and bluetooth enabled) for delivery of lectures

Free Online Education - Govt of India Initiative
SWAYAM is a programme initiated by Government of India and designed to achieve the three cardinal principles of Education Policy viz., access, equity and quality. This is done through a platform that facilitates hosting of all the courses, taught in classrooms from Class 9 till post-graduation to be accessed by anyone, anywhere at any time. All the courses are interactive, prepared by the best teachers in the country and are available, free of cost to any learner. More than 1,000 specially chosen faculty and teachers from across the country have participated in preparing these courses.
ePathshala
e-PG Pathshala is an initiative of the MHRD under its National Mission on Education through ICT (NME-ICT) being executed by the UGC. The content and its quality being the key component of education system, high quality, curriculum-based, interactive e-content in 70 subjects across all disciplines of social sciences, arts, fine arts and humanities, natural & mathematical sciences, linguistics and languages have been developed by the subject experts working in Indian universities and other R & D institutes across the country. Every subject had a team of principal investigator, paper coordinators, content writers, content reviewers, Language editors and multimedia team.

eADHYAYAN
e-Adhyayan is a repository of e-Books for the Under-Graduate & Post-Graduate Courses. The e-Books are being derived from the e-text of e-PG Pathshala. The project is initiated by the University Grants Commission and Ministry of Human resource Development, Government of India. The author / course coordinator of books are Indian experts. Currently, e-Adhyayan has 50 e-Books in Sociology, Library & information Science, Computer Science & IT. It is available in open access under Creative Common platform. The platform of e-Books is pressbook which is open source.

Project Gutenberg is a library of over 70,000 free eBooks

National Digital Library of India
To make learning resources available through a single-window to the learners, National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT) has sponsored the National Digital Library of India (NDLI) project and arranged funding through Ministry of Education, Govt. of India
National Library and Information Service
The Project entitled "National Library and Information Services Infrastructure for Scholarly Content (N-LIST)", being jointly executed by the e-ShodhSindhu Consortium, INFLIBNET Centre and the INDEST-AICTE Consortium, IIT Delhi provides for i) cross-subscription to e-resources subscribed by the two Consortia, i.e. subscription to INDEST-AICTE resources for universities and e-ShodhSindhu resources for technical institutions; and ii) access to selected e-resources to colleges. The N-LIST project provides access to e-resources to students, researchers and faculty from colleges and other beneficiary institutions through server(s) installed at the INFLIBNET Centre. The authorized users from colleges can now access e-resources and download articles required by them directly from the publisher's website once they are duly authenticated as authorized users through servers deployed at the INFLIBNET Centre.

NPTEL (National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning)
NPTEL stands for National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning, a joint project between the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) to provide free online courses in engineering, science, and humanities:
Courses
NPTEL offers courses in a variety of subjects, including engineering, science, and humanities. Courses are available in 4, 8, or 12-week formats.
Certification
NPTEL offers online certification courses. To earn a certificate, you must join a course, submit assignments, register and pay for exams, and pass the exam. The exam is optional.
