Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University, Patiala was established by the State Legislature Act No. 19 of 2019 as the first Open University in the state of Punjab. The University endeavours to open new vistas for the education and employment seekers through its extensive network of several Learner Support Centre. Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College Sarhali is one of their authorized Learner Support Centres with Centre Registration No. PSOU-23-GAC-200.

Note: Each certificate programme is of 6 months and can be extended by another six months to obtain a diploma by paying an additional fee. All programmes can be done along with the student's regular study.
Master Degree Programmes are of two years (4 semesters) duration.

[1] Certificate / Diploma Programme in IT Enabled Services
Objective of the Course:
To provide practical training of office automation tools, Internet and internet tools. The course also helps the candidates to get acquainted with IT and ITeS.

Learning Outcomes:
After completion of this course the students would be able to work in office, handle documents, spreadsheets, make presentations and communicate through internet.

Duration of the Course: 
Certificate course: 6 months

Eligibility: Any student enrolled in degree program of the college.

[2] Certificate / Diploma Programme in GST Filing and Practice
Objective:
The programme’s mission is to broaden the horizon of the learners with a deeper understanding of the GST law and its e filing in the new digital environment and equip them with a new set of tools to help them digitally create and file GST returns.

Programme Duration: six months

Eligibility: (10+2) or its equivalent are eligible to apply.

Learning outcomes:
1. Develop a detailed understanding in the students of law and practice of Goods and Services Tax and the application of its provisions.
2. Develop a detailed understanding in the students of documents, records, books of accounts and tax returns, and the requirements for the payment of Goods and Services Tax using computer hardware and software packages.

The programme has been framed by JGNDPSOU to achieve the following objectives:

a) To bring familiarity with major literary works, genres, periods and critical approaches to Indian, British, American and World Literature.

b) To enhance the ability to use current theoretical approaches to literary study.

c) To provide an opportunity to read closely and appreciate a variety of forms, styles, structures and modes.

d) To articulate the relations among culture, history and texts.

e) To develop the proficiency in language skills.

f) To instill a profound level of critical and resourceful thinking about the society.

g) To foster the ability to analyses and derive human values through study of language and literature.

h) To be able to employ analytical, interpretational and evaluative skills in differ contexts.

i) To write clearly, effectively and creatively.

j) To hone the professional skills of the learners making them self-sufficient for employability.

Duration: 2 years (4 semesters)

Eligibility: Bachelor’s Degree or a higher degree from a recognised University.

The learner is required to score at least 35% marks in both continuous evaluations (i.e.in assignments) as well as in semester end examinations separately. Besides, at least 40% marks in each course is required in the overall computation.
